DWC Recommends: Garden Plaza Saigon, A City Stay with a Personal Touch

Thank you, Garden Plaza Saigon, for the warm welcome. It wasn’t what we were expecting at all, and it set the tone for our stay.

As you step through the sweeping glass doors and into the vast foyer, you leave behind the hum of Saigon’s busy streets. Suddenly, you forget you’re in a city of nearly ten million people. The concierge greets you, and from reception to chambermaids to the restaurant staff, the hospitality feels personal at every turn.

Our introduction began with a room that instantly made us smile. It has an open concept—you can see into the bathroom from the bedroom. Don’t worry, though; there’s a curtain for privacy, which neatly pulls across the bathtub area. Small detail, big win.

The interior is minimalist with a touch of vintage, the room itself spacious, and the cotton bathrobes are exactly what you want to sink into after a long day. We stayed in one of the Orchid Club category rooms, which came with that flowing open feel and both a tub and separate shower cubicle.

With 186 rooms across six categories, Garden Plaza manages to stay intimate despite its size. You can dine at the Garden Brasserie, which offers international buffets and à la carte options, or sip cocktails at the Lotus Bar.

There’s a large outdoor pool tucked away from the buzz, and if you’re in the mood for pampering, the Garden Spa is ready to oblige. For those days when you just want to stay in, the in-room dining menu has you covered.

The hotel is situated in the north of the city, making it convenient for Tan Son Nhat International Airport and well connected to Saigon’s districts. And for the record—we never once heard a plane.

What made this stay extra special for us was learning more about the team behind it. We co-ordinated with marketing executive Esther Nguyen, and the General Director is Ms Tran Viet Mai. To feature a women-led team as part of our upcoming travel guide feels fitting and inspiring.

We’ve just checked in, but from what we’ve seen so far, Garden Plaza Saigon is a hotel for this city, and this city is made for the hotel. They recently rebranded but the details are the same, if not better - spacious rooms, thoughtful design, warm service, and a central location all combine to make it a strong recommendation.

Disclosure: We received a one-night complimentary stay in exchange for a feature in our upcoming 2026 Ho Chi Minh Travel Guide. All opinions and thoughts expressed are our own.
